The image displays a close-up view of a Corticioid mushroom Trechispora mollusca growing on the lower surface of a true conk fungus, possibly Ganoderma applanatum. The photo was captured by Evgenia Mikhailova in Sosnovka Park, Saint Petersburg, Russia, during March 2017.
On the left side of the image is the upper part of the true conk fungus, which has dark brown bark. A circular section of yellowish-brown Corticioid mushroom Trechispora mollusca with a dense mesh-like structure covers the lower surface of the fungus in the center of the photo. On the right side of the image is more of the lower surface of the fungus, which appears to be covered by an uneven layer of white mold.
