Album 2617: Sam Houston Forest - College Station, Texas, December 24 - 25, 2019

The image shows a close-up view of a patch of yellow crust fungus growing on the underside of a fallen pine tree, attached to soil.

A pale yellow crust covers most of the image with some darker brown spots throughout. It is not clear if these are parts of the fungus or just dirt. The right side of the image has more dark areas than the left. There appears to be some white mold in various places on both sides of the image.

The background is a mix of soil and what might be small pieces of wood. Some thin, brownish-white roots can be seen sticking up from the bottom-right corner.
