The image shows five bolete mushrooms lying on the ground. The first mushroom is at the top of the image and has a dark brown cap with grayish-white patches on the top. This fungus appears to be infected by Hypomyces, a type of parasitic mold that typically infects fungi, especially those belonging to the genus Boletus.

This infection causes discoloration and deformation in the host mushroom and is often accompanied by a white or cream-colored crust on the surface.

Below this first bolete are four more mushrooms lying on top of each other, with only their caps visible. These caps are yellowish-brown with dark brown edges. They also appear to be infected by Hypomyces.

In the center of the image is a cross-section of one of the boletes that has been cut in half longitudinally. The cross section shows the white spore mass inside the fruiting body, which is typical of bolete mushrooms.

The background appears to be grass, suggesting that this was photographed on a lawn or meadow.

– Spanish translation
