The image shows a close-up view of four large and small Bolete (Xerocomus Illudens) mushrooms found on the Sand Branch Loop Trail in Sam Houston National Forest near Montgomery Texas on October 29th, 2023.

The largest mushroom is positioned at the bottom left corner of the image and has an amber-colored cap with a light brown center. The stem is yellowish-white with white pores underneath the cap and a small black dot on top of the cap. A smaller version of this same species is placed above it, to the right, and slightly behind. This mushroom is much smaller than its larger counterpart but has almost identical coloring.

The two mushrooms on the left are both laying flat on the ground with their stems facing up towards the camera. The one in the bottom left corner has a small piece of dirt stuck to its cap. The other mushroom's stem appears to have been cut off at an angle, and a piece of it is visible at the top-left edge of the image.

There are some dead leaves and pine needles scattered around the mushrooms on the ground.
