Victorian era

Victorian era funeral parlor in National Museum of Funeral History. Houston, Texas, February 8, 2009
Joseph A. Foster House at 307 East Texas Street, a corner of Beech Street. It was built as a Gothic Revival structure in 1878, reflecting the Victorian tastes of the era. The facade is symmetrical with a central entrance, characteristic of the Neoclassical style. The house was severely damaged by a tornado spawned by the 1900 Galveston Hurricane. Following this disaster, it was extensively remodeled into the Neoclassical (Greek Revival) style. It has been the subject of historic preservation efforts, with significant renovation projects reported around 2018. Calvert, Texas, December 13, 2025
