Plaster replications of hands in a niche dedicated to the healed in Chapel of St.Roch Cemetery. New Orleans, Louisiana
Album 525: New Orleans, Saint Bernard Parish LA, May 22 - 26, 2006
The photograph depicts plaster replicas of two hands hanging from hooks on a wall. The left hand faces forward with its fingers splayed as if offering something, while the right hand is turned backward and appears to be grasping an invisible object or another person's wrist.
The plaster casts have lost their smooth texture and now feature cracks in several places, giving them a worn appearance. They are attached to hooks on the wall by ropes, which hang down from the ceiling.
In the background, the walls of the niche in the Chapel of Saint Roch Cemetery are visible. The walls display a rough texture with some patches of white paint that are peeling away.
The photograph captures an intimate moment within the chapel's sanctuary, highlighting the emotional significance of this space for those who visit it. – AI vision
🇫🇷 Description en français / French Description
– French translation
