Album 582: Princeton - Kingston, New Jersey, May 1 - 5, 2007
The photograph presents a close-up view of sprouting poison ivy at the base of a tree. The plant has two long, red stems that emerge from the ground, each bearing several small leaves. These leaves are shaped like maple leaves and have serrated edges.
**Coloration**
* The stems and veins on the underside of each leaf are reddish-orange.
* The top side of each leaf is green with bright yellow margins along the edges, except for a few small leaves at the bottom of the plant that are entirely red.
* A few of these red leaves have curled up, possibly due to damage from insects or disease.
**Background**
The background is dark and blurry, making it difficult to determine the exact location where the picture was taken. However, based on the caption, it appears to be in a park near Princeton, New Jersey.
**Overall Impression**
The image provides an intimate view of poison ivy's early growth stages. The reddish-orange stems and leaves are striking against the dark background, creating a visually appealing contrast. – AI vision
