Seed heads of Texas dandelions in Lick Creek ParkLick Creek: Background Notes. College Station, Texas
Album 1048: Lake Somerville - College Station, Texas, April 29 - May 3, 2012
The image shows a close-up view of seed heads on a field of Texas dandelions. The seeds are white and fluffy, resembling cotton balls or pom-poms. They are attached to long green stems that are surrounded by more greenery. Some of these stalks appear to have dried up and turned brown.
In the top left corner of this image, there is also some green vegetation with two large leaves. A few seed heads can be seen near the bottom right of the image. The background is a field of white, fluffy seeds, which cover the entire area.
It appears that these plants are starting to produce their seeds. This is likely due to the fact that it is May and dandelions typically bloom in early spring.
