Catkins of box elder in Lick Creek ParkLick Creek: Background Notes. College Station, Texas
Album 3500: College Station - Lake Somerville, Texas, March 28 - 29, 2024
The image features a close-up view of catkins on a branch of a Box Elder tree (Acer negundo). The catkins are long and drooping, hanging from leafy branches that have emerged from buds. The catkins themselves are greenish-yellow in color with red stems and hang down from the twigs like small bunches of grapes.
The image is well-lit but somewhat dark due to the background being out of focus, which suggests that it was taken at night or indoors. The lighting is not harsh, indicating artificial light sources or a cloudy day.
The overall atmosphere of the image is one of serenity and tranquility, with the delicate catkins hanging gently from their branches like nature's own ornaments.
– Spanish translation
